DR. ORLY YADID-PECHT

Dr. Orly Yadid-Pecht is a Fellow of the IEEE, of SPIE and of AIMBE for her contributions to the design of advanced image sensors. She received her D.Sc. from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in 1995. She was a National Research Council (USA) research fellow in the areas of Advanced Image Sensors at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)/ California Institute of Technology (Caltech) till 1997.  Then she joined Ben-Gurion University in Israel and founded the VLSI Systems Center. From 2009 she was an iCORE Professor at the University of Calgary, Canada, and since 2014 she is an AITF Strategic Chair of Integrated Intelligent Sensors at the University.

Dr. Yadid-Pecht’s main subject of interest is Integrated CMOS Sensors. She is interested in compact low power Micro and Nano-Systems mainly for Bio-Medical applications. She works on “Smart” Image Sensors and advanced systems in Photonics and MEMs. She has published over two hundred papers, holds more than thirty patents, and has led over twenty research projects supported by government and industry.  Her work has a couple thousand external citations and Dr. Yadid-Pecht has an H-index of over 30. Most of her patents are licensed or serving as IP in start-up companies. Dr. Yadid-Pecht is a co-founder and director on the board of a few companies. She is also a certified coach and is supporting students and other academics bring their ideas to commercialization.
